Program Objectives

The course is presented in a workshop format. Participants will learn step-by-step procedure to perfom a 12-lead ECG. The principles and techniques of Holter monitoring will be cobvered in a hand-on laboratory sesion.This workshop would be of benefit to nurses working in critical care areas such as intensive care and emergency departments.

Highlighted Clinical Skills

Explain the basic principles of operation of an ECG machine
Discuss purpose and principles of the 12-lead ECG
Apply and remove a Holter monitor
Perform an ECG tracing using appropriate patient care
Axis determinationIdentify and correct common artifacts
